Hello, everyone, my name is Randall, and this Meetup is for those who love Euro Games! So, what is a "Euro" game? Though the lines are often muddied, a "Euro" game is generally defined as "a style of board game, characterized by simple rules, short to medium playtimes, indirect player interaction, abstract physical components, emphasis on economic themes, and on strategy over luck or conflict." Popular games in this genre include Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, and Catan. Newer games in this field include Five Tribes, Splendor, Imperial Settlers, and Istanbul. If you've never played any of these games, don't worry, we'll be glad to teach you. :) It might be easier to explain what a Eurogame is not. Generally, "Cooperative" games like Pandemic and Shadows over Camelot, "Take That" games like Munchkin and Killer Bunnies, "Party" games like Cranium and Apples to Apples, "Abstract" games like Chess and Go, and "Social Deduction" games like Werewolf and The Resistance are not considered to be "Euro" games. Come join us at Gryphon Games and Comics new location! Lots of gaming space without the bar atmosphere. RSVP is helpful but not required. Hope to see you there! The Northern Colorado Boardgames Meetup Group invites you to come play games with us.  Each Tuesday will feature a different theme, highlighting different types of games or game designers.  Come for an hour or stay till closing.  Check out Meetup.com for this week's theme.  http://www.meetup.com/fc-boardgames/
